Here I am in San Fran… Came here to meet with Roz Savage and help out in tech geekery and how to make things run smoother for her second lag on her row across the Pacific Ocean. So I thought I would take this opportunity to call up and meet with some of the BIG podcasters in the new media industry.

I do not have a SD card reader right now and I will post pictures later but met with Leo Laporte of the TWiT network at http://TWiT.tv and to my surprise I ended up in his office shooting and recording a net@night episode! Very cool…. Now i have to fast track my production of my podcasts to take advantage of the Leo effect :)

That’s all for now Ill keep you all posted on my next meeting at Revision3 and I am also going to be shooting a Systm show with them on Thurs!

On my quest for world records I have come accross some great people. One of them is Roz Savage and she has rowed accross the Atlantic and is almost half way across the Pacific and about to land in Hawaii. She is doing this for the environment and so far has done this on donations alone. Here is the favor I ask of you. Please go to the Members Project for american express and vote for Roz to help her get the funding she needs to finish crossing the ocean and to help bring awareness to what we are doing to our planet. You do not have to have a american express card all you have to do is sign up as a guest member and vote. PLAEASE PLEASE do this for me will ya. Now I am just asking for a few moments of your time to help us saver our planet. SO GO VOTE!!!! And do it before Sept 1st. Sorry for the short notice but any vote helps.

Win a FREE Trimble Nomad® Handheld Computer!

The farthest distance a human has travelled under his own power on flat water is 242 km by Carter Johnson on April 29-30, 2006 on Lake Merced, California using a Huki S1-x surfski kayak. On the week of July 27 to August 2, Canadian Greg Kolodziejzyk is going to challenge Carter’s record using a specially designed, state of the art carbon fiber pedal powered boat called Critical Power 2.

Event sponsor Trimble is offering a free Nomad® handheld computer to whoever can come the closest to predicting Greg’s finishing distance during his attempt at a new 24 hour human powered boat distance record.

The contest is free to enter and open to anyone. Simply fill in your name, email address and distance prediction in miles or kilometers on the form found below.

The new Trimble Nomad handheld computer delivers maximum performance and reliability in a lightweight and extremely rugged design that’s easy to carry. Featuring built-in GPS, color camera, embedded Bluetooth and 802.11g wireless, the waterproof Nomad weighs just 17 ounces, meets military specifications for drops, vibration, and both high and low temperature operation, and runs Windows Mobile 6. Ruined iPhone Dream….

Hey all, I am trying to help to stop a monopoly in Canada. I cannot even get close to explaining this well but go here and have a read and please sign the petition and help us out.

In summary for what you pay for a iPhone and data package in the rest of the world you would need to have the phone for 3-5 years to pay what we would in 1 year! There are two cell phone companies in Canada and they are exploiting us. This site has been up for less than a week now and has 30 000 signatures. This will give you an idea of how upset the public is with this. SIGN THE PETITION for us will  ya.
